Company Secretary
Tony Walsh B Comm, MBA, CA, FCIS
Mr Walsh has over 20 years experience dealing with listed companies including 3 years as a company secretary and director and 14 years at the ASX where he held the role of Assistant Manager and acted as ASX liaison with the JORC committee. Prior to his role at the ASX, Tony was with Ernst and Young for 5 years in an audit and compliance capacity. Tony is a fellow of Chartered Secretaries Australia.
Tony is also the Chairman of Shaw River Resources Ltd (ASX: SRR).
Chief Operating Officer
Ken Brinsden B.Eng, WASM, MAusImm
Mr Brinsden is a Mining Engineer with over 15 years experience in surface and underground mining operations. Prior to commencing with Atlas Iron, Ken was Mining Manager with Iluka Resources Limited, responsible for the green fields development of Iluka's Murray Basin Mining Operations in South West Victoria. Previously Ken held Senior Mine Management and Project Development roles with Gold Fields and WMC Resources.
Ken is also a Non-Executive Director of Shaw River Resources Ltd (ASX:SRR).
Chief Commercial Officer
Mark Hancock B.Bus, CA, FFin
Mr Hancock is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience who commenced his career in public practice and subsequently held senior financial management roles across a variety of industries in Australia and South East Asia. These included stints with some of Australia's leading corporations (Lend Lease & Woodside Petroleum), a mid size foreign listed entity (Premier Oil plc) and an ASX listed junior (Discovery Petroleum Ltd).
General Manager Pilbara Operations
Jeremy Sinclair B.Eng (Mining) University of Queensland, MAusImm
Mr Sinclair is a Mining Engineer with 14 years experience in surface mining operations. Prior to commencing with Atlas Iron Jeremy held key Management roles within Rio Tinto Iron Ore in their Pilbara operations. Previously he consulted to the mining industry and worked in operational roles in large scale operations mining nickel, iron ore and gold. Jeremy brings to Atlas expertise in mine planning, establishing production systems and operational execution.
General Manager Geology
Andrew Paterson B.Eng, Grad.Dip, WASM, MAusIMM
Mr Paterson is a geologist with over 15 years experience in mining and exploration geology, encompassing surface and underground operations and greenfields exploration projects. Prior to joining Atlas Iron Andrew was a senior consultant with BM Geological Services. Andrew has previously held corporate and managerial positions with companies including Mount Magnet South and Harmony Gold, and his experience includes several years in the gold and nickel industries in the Yilgarn and Murchison gold fields. Andrew is also a member of the Executive Council of The Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC).
General Manager Land Access and Approvals
Garry Plowright
Mr Plowright's career includes over 15 years experience in commercial and technical development within the mining industry, working for some of Australia's leading resource companies. He has been mostly involved in gold, base metals and iron ore exploration and mining, predominantly in Western Australia. He brings to Atlas considerable experience and knowledge associated with the supply and logistics of services to the mining industry, tenement management and issues relating to land access, native title, and community consultation.
Garry has held management positions in the private sector of the mining industry, including land access, project environmental and social impact assessment, mapping and GIS management for various small, medium and large capped companies. He has an extensive background in mining law and administration and has provided services to the industry in tenement management and administration, property acquisitions, project generation and joint venture negotiations.
General Manager Infrastructure Strategy
John McMath BA, LLB,(MELB.) MBA (MBS), FAICD
Mr McMath is a qualified lawyer and has over 25 years experience as a senior executive in the resources, infrastructure, energy and utilities industries. He has previously worked with QR Freight, Yilgarn Infrastructure, Woodside and Loy Yang Power and has been involved in a number of Australian and international projects. He has also been extensively involved in lobbying and negotiation with government, regulatory agencies and stakeholder groups.
John is the Deputy Chairman of the West Australian Youth Music Association Inc. and a Board member of the Starlight Children’s Foundation (WA). He also facilitates workshops for the Australian Institute of Company Directors on Board, committee and governance matters.
Senior Manager – Legal/Commercial
Jack Cullity LLB
Mr Cullity is a lawyer with 15 years experience who commenced his career in private practice and has subsequently held a number of legal and commercial roles in the mining industry. Jack worked with Linklaters lawyers in London in the corporate department, before returning to Australia to take up managerial positions with ASX listed companies Newcrest Mining and Downer EDI.
Senior Manager - Projects
Jason Cross MSc, PMP, MAIPM
Mr Cross is an accredited Project Manager with over 15 years experience in the mining and minerals processing industry. Prior to joining Atlas, Jason held senior project positions within the Rio Tinto expansion projects team, working in an EPCM consultant capacity for Engenium Pty Ltd and has also held significant project management, design and quality related roles with a variety of consultants covering many aspects of the mining industry. He has an extensive amount of experience in study management and has spent a considerable part of his working life managing various feasibility studies (concept through to definitive). Jason brings a unique skill set to the organisation which enables him to utilize industry standard project management practices across the entire life cycle of Atlas Irons project endeavours to ensure the Company delivers on its objectives.
